In the past two years, there has been an increasing number of inquiries about TR encoders.
Domestically, this year we have received 7-8 requests for alternatives. Mainly because the original products are difficult to procure, and also because they are seeking a low-cost strategy.
In the first half of the year, we accepted a commission from a metallurgical enterprise to develop an alternative product.
In terms of the product, this model of encoder is not very complex. Mainly because there are relatively few alternatives available in the market for encoders with a 65mm outer diameter.
The CEV65M-01460 uses a 64.8mm clamping flange, and we can start from this point. According to the size, we produce the same flange through a machining center and then install it onto a 58mm housing, which solves the issue. We have corresponding semi-finished products for the internal circuit program, which can be handled technically.
The only difference is the size of the base. We use a 58mm base outer diameter, while the original product has a 65mm outer diameter. However, this does not affect usage.
The resolution of this encoder is 4096*4096, and the voltage is 11-27V; our proposed solution is 10-30V. In this way, the substitution is fully completed.
Let's talk about a broader issue: Why is there a demand for Profibus-DP protocol alternatives in the market? I believe it is mainly a matter of trend; future encoders may all be heading towards Profinet, Ethernet directions. Profibus is mainly in the spare parts market, and some older models may have been discontinued.
But it doesn't matter, we are still providing corresponding alternative custom solutions for some discontinued models. If there is a need in this area, you can contact us.
